Oscar nominated film: the King’s speech

The King’s speech is nominated for 12 Oscars, including best actor for Colin Firth and best supporting nods for co-stars Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter. This film has already been released in the States. It must be an amazing film, in England families will see the film together. In the movie you see king George VI stammering. He has to practice for an important radio broadcast. George VI is the father of queen Elizabeth, queen Elizabeth is still queen of the United Kingdom.

The film is amazing, I have seen it already on my computer. It is very difficult for George VI to speak smoothly, the stammering is very annoying for him and others. I think we should all go and see this film, it is a piece of English history.  The Oscar Nominations are deserved, Geoffrey plays the doctor who helps George VI and the way he acts is amazing. He stays serious while he has to do some weird exercises. I hope you will all be able to see this film when it will release in the Netherlands.

Stay calm for Nelson Mandela

Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela was admitted is hospital for routine tests, but he has been seen by a lung specialist as well. For that reason there might be a little panic under the people. The ANC spokesman calls on all South Africans to remain calm regarding the hospitalization. At this moment there is no reason for panic, Nelson Mandela is in good spirits. People hope that Nelson will get out the hospital soon and that he is healthy, they decorate feces with colorful pictures and hands and hearts. The South Africans love their retired president.

It is important that such a big leader as Nelson Mandela will stay healthy, although he is 92 years old. The people still believe in him, he meant a lot to the world. He is the example of a peaceful man. I hope that the routine tests are negative and that Nelson Mandela will live for a few more years. Not only for the South African people but also for people who sees him as a role model. His work is something to be proud of and he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

Baby Lilly MacGlashan is a one-year-old baby who is born with cancer. At first doctors thought they had the cancer under control, but they found it again in her head. Doctors have never seen this before. She has only one chance of survival and therefore she needs to go to New York for a special treatment. Lilly needs radioimmunotherapy to become healthy. To make the trip to New York her parents need £ 300,000. Lilly is a real fighter and her twin sister Molly can not miss her, that is why the parents ask for a donation.

How terrible it is to read that a baby is born with such a terrible disease! I hope the parents will get as much money as they need and that Lilly will get the right treatment on time. I have a twin sister myself and I can not miss her, I would be so afraid of losing her if she has cancer. I hope Molly will play with her sister in the future and that they both smile without being afraid of cancer. I hope that people will help them raising money to go to New York.

Who is the mum of Cristiano Ronaldo jr?

Cristiano Ronaldo, soccer player in England, has become a father in June 2010. But since the baby is there, questions raise up about who is the mom? Is it the 20-year-old UK student who has a one-night-stand or someone else? According to Cristiano his sister Katia the mother of the baby is no longer alive. Dolores, Cristiano his mom, takes care of her grandson like it is her own, she said he is from our blood. In the meantime Cristiano and his Russian model Irina Shayk are jetting around the world, leaving the baby behind.

I would like to congratulate Cristiano with his the birth of his son. Also congratulations to the mother who gave birth but does not get the support she needs. If she wants to be anonymous that is okay, but then there must not be any rumors about her. It might be wise just to explain the press how the situation is without mentioning the name of the mother. Again congratulations to Cristiano for having a mother who will take care of your son and a sister who will bring rumors in to the world. I do not think this is a good base for the baby.

One of the worst criminals: Peter Tobin

Detective Superintendent David Swindle of Strathclyde police is investigating the past of Peter Tobin. This man already killed three young women and now seven women identified him as the man who raped them. The police set up Operation Anagram to investigate if Peter Tobin is guilty in different other crimes. For this investigation the police will talk with several people out of Peter Tobin’s past, such as his first wife and close friends. People can also call with information about Peter Tobin after they have watched the programme Crimewatch appeal last July.

It is terrible what this man has done. How could you rape women or kill them?!?!!? Is not is absurd? I think this man must go to jail and never see the daylight again. He must be mentally ill, otherwise I can not imagine you can do something this horrible. After reading this article I thought how would his wife feel? Could you imagine you were married with a raper/killer? It is very good that the police is investigating his past. I hope there are no more victims of this monster.

It is not the end for Rodger Federer

The Swiss tennis player Rodger Federer is beaten by Novak Djokovic. Rodger won the Australian Open since 2003, he is disappointing not to leave with a trophy.  Novak was to strong, his serve was strong and Rodger thought it was a great match. It was exciting until the end, Rodger leveled the game at 4-4. Later on Novak got the serve and held on. Despite of the lost, Rodger is still motivated to play top tennis and he plays great. Tonight he has to play tennis against Nadal, which is a very dominant player. We will see who will be the winner!

Opinion about the article:

To be honest, I do not know so much about tennis. I do not know the sport or the players, but when I saw that Rodger lost the Australian Open I was surprised. Because I knew he is always the winner of this event, it is the only thing I know about tennis. I think this is a big issue for the fans, and for the Australian Open but for the rest of the people it is just an article in a newspaper. This article is not very interesting for me, it is just something to read.

Birdie, birdie in the sky……

Prize-winning pictures of the world’s rarest birds were showed in  an international competition last year. Next year these photos will be published by the ethical publishing company WILDGuides. The profits from the sales will go to Birdlife International’s Preventing Extinctions Programme, this will help to support conservation projects worldwide. On the photos you will see birds in funny positions, dancing, running, jumping and so on. The photos will show the beauty of nature, unfortunately the number of birds is decreasing because of industrial development and the loss and degradation of wetlands.

Opinion  about the article:

It is very important that the nature will stay as beautiful as it is or was. Several birds died because of what people have damaged in nature. Birds are very beautiful, they can fly, jump and do crazy stuff which will be on the picture. The programme to help birds is something I will support, the world needs birds. Birds are part in the circle of life and we need them to keep  balance. How cute are the newborn little birdies? This is something I want to see over ten, thirty and fifty years again.
